As part of her Duke of Edinburgh Silver award, Alexi Holden has been volunteering for Headway Lancaster and Morecambe Bay. In preparing herself to volunteer with our members, Alexi has researched how an acquired brain injury can impact on a person’s life, giving her a better understanding of the challenges our members face daily. Despite the lockdown making it difficult for us to meet up with our members at the allotment, Alexi has helped to stain the raised beds and fence in preparation for our growing season and is participating in the #HomeGrown project. Many of our members have been growing vegetables and flowers from home some of which will be sold in our May fund raising plant sale.

A big thank you to Alexi, Michael and Tyson for all your hard work despite the cold weather.
